About Utility Lab
Utility Lab exists because everyday digital tasks - resizing an image, formatting some JSON, converting units - shouldn’t require handing your files over to a stranger’s server.
Most “free online tools” websites work by uploading your file, processing it somewhere else, and sending back a result. That means your photos, documents, and data pass through servers you don’t control, often sitting alongside intrusive ads and tracking scripts.
We built Utility Lab differently. Wherever technically possible, your files never leave your device. Processing happens directly in your browser using modern web APIs - Canvas, Web Workers, and the Web Crypto API - so the tool runs, and then everything is gone when you close the tab.
Today, Utility Lab covers image editing, text and data manipulation, developer utilities, and unit conversion. Video, audio, and PDF tools are on the way, built with the same local-first principles from day one.
We’re a small, focused product. No accounts, no subscriptions, no tracking pixels - just tools that work, quickly, on your terms.
